Macau Fireworks 2026: Which Night to Take

Five fireworks nights over the Macau Tower, 12 September to 4 October — how to choose yours, and where the night goes after the 21:40 finale.

Macau’s international fireworks contest returns for five nights this autumn, and anyone pencilling dates into a trip hits one difficult question first: which night to take. The five are not interchangeable — two fall on public holidays, one is opening night, and one is quietly the easiest evening of the lot.

The five nights are 12, 19 and 25 September, then 1 and 4 October. Two displays go up over the sea in front of the Macau Tower each time, at 21:00 and 21:40, which leaves the better part of the night still ahead of you. That second half is a private karaoke room at Clube Rio, on the 3rd floor of Hotel Rio in NAPE.

Dates, times and teams come from the organiser; the crowd column is our own estimate. The organiser also notes the schedule may change, so confirm yours close to the day.

Which night to take

  • A first trip to Macau — 12 Sep. Opening night turns the city over to the season, and you get that lift without the holiday crush.
  • Sidestepping the crowds — 19 Sep. No holiday and no opening rush: the same two displays, and the easiest night to get the room you want.
  • The holiday atmosphere — 25 Sep or 1 Oct. Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day put the whole city outdoors — the promenade fills hours early and the lanterns are already up. Book hotels and cars early.

The classic viewing areas — the Macau Tower forecourt, Sai Van Lake Square, the Nam Van Lake waterfront, the higher ground around Penha Hill — are all about ten minutes by car from Hotel Rio on a normal evening, and all within reach of our car. The roads seize up the moment a display ends, though, so allow extra time. The access page has the address to show a driver.

After the 21:40 finale

In from the noise of the promenade, the door closes on a room already set — glasses poured, the screen lit, the first song queued.

The finale is over by about 21:50, and half the waterfront starts walking at the same moment. Our doors open at 19:00 and the night runs to 04:00 (as of August 2026), so arriving around 22:00 drops you into the best stretch of the evening rather than the tail of it.

There are two ways to shape the evening: come early — 19:00 to 20:30, a drink and a few songs — then head out for the displays, or come straight after. Either way, booking through this site includes a free private car, yours and never shared, collecting you from the viewing area. A day’s notice makes it easier still, though we can arrange same-day requests too.

How a contest night runs

  1. 19:00 – 20:30: early arrivals settle into a main lounge, VIP room, party room, theme room or luxury suite, by headcount. Compare them on the rooms page.
  2. 20:30: the car takes you out to your viewing spot.
  3. 21:00 and 21:40: the two displays, about forty minutes apart. Bring a layer for the sea wind.
  4. ~22:00: collected and back with us, where the house package begins: one hour of companion karaoke plus one hour of therapist massage.
  5. Through to 04:00: companion karaoke alone runs MOP 1,300 / 1,500 / 2,000 across three tiers; Vietnamese-style packages MOP 3,288 – 4,388 and Tang-style MOP 4,088 – 5,088, unlimited drinks included on the higher-priced plans — all as of August 2026, plus a 10% service charge. Cash, card, WeChat Pay and Alipay accepted, with the current menu confirmed when you book. See the prices page.

Before you book

Can I watch the fireworks from the club? No — we sit across the peninsula and the rooms are private, with no view outside. Watch from the waterfront, then let the car bring you back.

How late can I arrive on 1 October? Arriving by around 01:00 leaves room for the full package; later arrivals we arrange to suit on the night.

Can we stay the night? There are no guest or nap rooms here — the night runs to 04:00 (as of August 2026) and the car takes you back to your hotel.

What if a display is postponed? Message us and we will do what we can to move the room. More on the FAQ page.

Whichever date you take, what you will describe afterwards is the walk back with the smoke still hanging over the water. Pick your night, then message us with the date, your headcount and your viewing spot, and we will come back with the room, the companions and the car at Clube Rio.
